Petaling Jaya, 12 September 2024 - Honda Malaysia (or the Company) today surprised Malaysians by introducing a Special Edition for two of its sought-after models, the City and WR-V. Only 99 units of each Special Edition model will be available. These Special Edition models are poised to further excite the market and strengthen their presence in their respective segments.
The City V Special Edition boasts a refreshed exterior that makes this popular B-segment sedan even more desirable and exclusive, featuring Front, Side and Rear Under Spoilers, along with a Special Edition emblem. The model is further enhanced with a front Honda Digital Video Recorder (DVR) to capture real‑time driving conditions, a Foot Light, stylish Side Step Garnishes and a Trunk Tray for added convenience. Striving to fuel market excitement with unique offerings, Honda Malaysia incorporated these features into the City to enhance its sporty silhouette while maintaining practicality, thus meeting evolving customer demands. The City V variant already has notable features such as eight speakers, 60:40 Split Rear Seat configuration, 519 litres of cargo space, six airbags, advanced Honda SENSING with eight safety features and Walk Away Auto Lock.
Since its debut in Malaysia in 2001, the City has become Malaysians’ favourite B‑segment sedan and amassed a huge local fanbase with over 450,000 units sold. Through the years, the City has undergone multiple redesigns and upgrades, and it is now in its 5th Generation. The facelifted City was introduced in August 2023 and has sold more than 26,200 units to date.
At the same time, Honda Malaysia is also delighting customers who are seeking a small and versatile SUV with a touch of exclusivity by introducing a Special Edition version of the WR‑V RS. Elevating the model’s appearance are several new exterior additions including a Special Edition emblem and Front, Side and Rear Under Spoilers. The WR‑V RS Special Edition is also fitted with a front DVR, an Exhaust Pipe Finisher, a Rear Panel Lining Cover and Rear Step Garnishes. The new features heighten the WR‑V’s value proposition, attractive design and practicality, further positioning it as the ideal Small SUV tailored to the needs of both drivers and passengers alike.
To date, there are more than 13,400 units of the WR‑V on Malaysian roads, with the RS variant standing out as the preferred choice among owners, representing 53% of the model’s total sales. The WR‑V emphasises a modern, distinctive exterior and a clutter‑free interior that maximises comfort and spaciousness, presenting a Small SUV that seamlessly integrates performance, functionality, and safety with style. The RS variant, equipped with Honda SENSING, was also tested by ASEAN NCAP and scored an impressive five‑star rating.
The City Special Edition is available in the V variant and Platinum White Pearl colour, priced at RM94,9001, with an additional RM300 surcharge for the Platinum White Pearl colour. Meanwhile, the WR‑V Special Edition, available in the range‑topping RS variant and Stellar Diamond Pearl colour, retails at RM107,9001. Pricing for both Special Edition models remains the same.
