Safety is always first
The Honda CONNECT app is a beacon of safety. In the event of a collision, the Automatic Collision Detection feature is designed to give you immediate support through Honda Malaysia’s 24-hour roadside assist call centre. Any crucial detail of the collision, such as airbag deployment, will be sent to the call centre, where relevant emergency services will provide you with the best care possible. If the car is lent to family or friends, you’ll be the first to find out about any accidents.
But the safety measures installed with Honda CONNECT app are not only made for catastrophic events like an accident. Sometimes, unfortunate episodes can happen in the quiet too, like auto theft. In such incidents, the Security Alarm Detection will kick into gear, notifying both you and the call centre. It can be forceful entry from any entrance, be it the doors, trunk, or bonnet. Honda owners living in high-rise building will find this feature particularly useful, since they most likely won’t hear the car’s alarm going off.
The Honda CONNECT app not only filters out those external threats, it ensures the driver’s safety. Sometimes, drivers tend to lose themselves to the flow of the drive, especially when the drive is super smooth, and the traffic is low. The Speed Alert feature will keep drivers in line by notifying owners when the car is going beyond a set speed limit. That way, you and your loved ones can ensure each other’s safety while being on the road.
Security that eases your mind
While convenience can be a nice bonus, security is an absolute essential, Honda CONNECT has set a new standard of security with these features. Find My Car feature allows you to get the live location of your car on a map. When family or friends are driving your car, you can easily check the whereabouts of the car with a tap of a button.
Should the unthinkable happen and your car is stolen, Find My Car could make all the difference with knowing where your car is located. This is where Honda CONNECT also comes in handy with the Emergency Call feature, where drivers can reach their important contact instantly, saving precious minutes during emergencies.
On top of that, Honda CONNECT also acts as a digital sentinel. You can set a parameter through the Geo-fencing Alert feature that allows you to set zones around your car and receive alerts whenever your car enters or exits them. This way, should any of your friends or family members breach the boundary with your car, you’ll receive a notification in an instant.
Convenience is Key
Now, you don’t have to guesstimate, or depend on your gut feeling. With 11 main indicators (ABS, Supplemental Restraint System, Brake System, Engine Malfunction, Charging System, VSA, Electric Power Steering System, Lane Keep Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Safety Support, and Power System), you will get all the information you’ll need to troubleshoot any issues. These are additional to the input that you’ll be receiving on the status of the fuel, battery, lock, and airbag. This diagnostic feat is achieved through telematics, where the Honda CONNECT app will deliver a push notification to your mobile phone should there be any sign of trouble.
Not only does the app give you a better insight on the status of your Honda, it also allows you to have remote control over many aspects of the car with Remote Vehicle Control. Say you want to get an item from your car, and you forget the car keys; you don’t have to go through the hassle of going back and forth all over again.
