Petaling Jaya, 21 November 2008 - Caring for the environment takes more than a once-off activity; it takes continuous effort and commitment to conserve it. Honda Malaysia once again raises the level of environmental consciousness and build understanding on environment conservation and extinction through an online game contest and Sumatran Rhino roadshows.

The Nature Quest online game contest kicks off on November 24, 2008 and ends on January 31, 2009 on the website www.honda.com.my/rhino/. To engage the public to think about the environment, web visitors and contestants are encouraged to submit ideas on environment preservation efforts and activities. Targeted to primary school children and young adults, the online game contest is also aim to strengthen awareness and create understanding of the importance of environmental conservation.

In working towards realizing a dream of a greener world, Honda Malaysia is actively educating children by sharing ideas on ways to save our environment through school talks, roadshows and contests. The aim is to encourage and motivate school children and public to help preserve the environment.

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Atsushi Fujimoto said, "It is a challenging task for us to save the current environment. But we believe that when each of us does our own small part by simple acts such as not littering and using less plastic bag, it will help to preserve the environment. Caring for the environment is not up to just one or two persons; everybody have to work hand-in-hand to save our nature. I hope all of us will learn to care more for the environment and take proactive steps to help conserve it."

At the same time, on ground roadshows themed "Saving Nature" will be held at East Coast Mall, Kuantan on December 4 - 7, 2008 and at City Square, Johor Bahru on December 12 - 14, 2008.

Zainal Abidin of the famed award-winning song, Hijau and a very supportive guest towards the green effort, has also been invited to the Rhino roadshow at Johor Bahru. He urges the public to care for the environment. "When each and every one of us contribute a little towards taking care of the environment, it is a big helping hand to Mother Nature. I hope everyone can pick up tips on playing their part to save the environment from the Honda Rhino activities. At the same time, I hope students can inculcate the right attitude through the school talks and Rhino roadshows and make it as a habit to practise in their daily life." said Zainal.

In the continuous efforts to educate Malaysia's future custodians, talks on environment and Sumatran Rhino have reached nearly 6,000 students in 28 schools in Malaysia since year 2006. The Rhino school talks have been conducted in Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Bahru. The next round of the school talks will be held in Melaka. In addition, Honda Malaysia organized an Essay and Photo Contest titled "Environment & I" earlier this year, which received overwhelming support with almost 620 entries from the schools.

Save our Sumatran Rhino campaign is entering its fourth year of project. Honda hopes to raise awareness and educate future generations on the importance of preventing extinction by caring for the environment. This effort is part of Honda's long-term commitment to the community it operates in as it strives to become a company that society wants to exist.
